City of Trecastagni
Trecastagni celebrates its patron saint, Nicholas, in December. The evening several days before the feast day, the saint's statue moves out of its covered niche into the main altar of the church. Following a solemn Mass the next morning, the statue goes out in procession, greeted with confetti, bells, bands, and fireworks. Sometimes it is taken to the other local churches. That night it is taken to the Piazza Marconi for a blessing of the relics and a large show of fireworks. It then returns to the Mother Church and remains out through December 6th.
